Countryside Elementary is one of eight elementary schools in the Barrington 220 School District, serving grades K-5. The school mascot is the Wildcat. The original Countryside opened as a private school in 1937 called Country Day School. In 1942 it merged with seven one-room schools to form a public school. A new comprehensive building opened in 1950, serving grades K-8. More than 50 years later, a new building was constructed at the same location and in 2002 the current Countryside opened its doors to students.

You can contact the main office at 847-381-1162. For absences, please call the office prior to 9:00 a.m. to report the reason for your child's absence. If you know of an absence in advance or an extended absence, contact the attendance office with the date(s).

Hours

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the school day begins at 8am and runs until 2:40pm. Every Wednesday there is an early release at 2:10pm. Full-day kindergarten runs 8am-2:40pm.
